About Aniis
A note from the founder
I got Luna (my Persian cat) during the early months of the pandemic. Like a lot of people, I ended up with an animal I cared about deeply and almost no idea what I was doing.
The questions came constantly. Is this normal for her breed? Why is she eating less? Her coat looks different. Is it the AC, the food, stress, something I should be calling a vet about? At 11pm, none of the answers I found online felt like they were written for someone in Dubai with a Persian cat. They were written for someone in the UK or the US, in a different climate, with different food options, different vet access, and in a language that assumed a certain frame of reference.
I tried the apps that existed. They were fine for reminders. None of them felt like they knew my cat. None of them spoke Arabic properly. None of them understood that “summer” in the GCC is not a metaphor. It is 45 degrees, sustained for months, and it affects everything.
So we built Aniis. The name is Arabic. It means companion, someone you keep close. It's the right word. We are not trying to build a database, a marketplace, or a social network. We are trying to build something that makes you feel less alone when you're worried about an animal that can't tell you what's wrong.
We are small, we are serious, and we are GCC-first. Not as a marketing claim, but as a design constraint. Everything we build, we ask: does this work in Riyadh in July? Does this make sense to someone typing in Arabic? Is this answer accurate for the animals, the climate, and the food available here?
I believe pet care technology has largely ignored this part of the world. We're here to change that. Not with noise. With work.

Our mission
Pet parents in the Arab world deserve a care companion that understands where they live, speaks their language, and respects their intelligence. Aniis exists to give every GCC pet owner the same quality of guidance previously available only to those with deep veterinary relationships or strong English and access to Western resources.
An AI-powered companion that tracks your pet's health history, answers everyday care questions in Arabic and English, helps you notice changes before they become problems, and prepares you for vet visits with a clear summary of what to share.
Not a veterinary service. We do not employ vets, consult on live cases, or offer diagnostic opinions. We connect you to vets when needed. We are not one. Not a marketplace, not a social network, not a tele-medicine platform. We are care, the everyday kind, between vet visits.
Our standards
Every article, protocol, and health-guidance piece will be reviewed by a licensed veterinarian before it is published. Not generated and published: reviewed by a person with a degree and a practice. Updates go through the same process.
There is a hard boundary in Aniis that cannot be overridden by a clever prompt, a persistent question, or any user input. Aniis will not diagnose. It will not recommend medication doses. If it cannot safely answer, it says so. This is not a limitation we apologise for. It is intentional.
Your pet’s data is stored in the GCC region and handled under UAE Personal Data Protection Law standards. We do not sell pet data. We do not share records with third parties. We do not use your data to train AI models without your explicit opt-in.
We tell you when Aniis is uncertain. We tell you what it cannot assess. We do not design the product to feel more confident than it is. An AI that overstates its certainty in a health context is a dangerous AI. Ours does not.
The team
We are not a large company. We are a small, focused team building one thing well. Everyone here either has a pet, grew up with animals, or has spent time working in veterinary or health-adjacent contexts in the GCC. That is not incidental to the product. It is the reason for it.

Vet advisors
